This has been an interesting week (end) sorta because I included Monday. Like all the other pastors I finally have a monday off YaY! it was strange because the whole world would be working and yet here I am taking a break from the busyness of life; even enjoy reading a book by Marva Dawn on Sabbath (Sabbath rest in particular). As to the title I just thought it was strange because this weekend I enjoyed two very interesting things that maybe macho doods may or may not enjoy. But I'm letting this out of the closet - I actually enjoyed it quite a lot. Creativity and Arts festival @ international center (luckily no pictures haha) So this weekend was the Creativity and Arts fest. So I got some cheap tickets to different festivals happening in the T.O. and being the nice guy I asked my gf which she may be interested in and we've decided on this fest. Very interestingly after we got the ticket and the night before the festival we read the different seminars... hmmm wow very interesting ones haha (crochet, knitting and quilting are the dominant ones). Saturday afternoon as we were driving into the International Center very few guy were around it was mainly late middle age and elderly ladies. We walked amongst the different exhibit and booths filled with knitting needles, quilting needles, scrapbooking, cloth designs, sewing machines... We were lining up for a seminar/worship and amongst the line haha I was also the only guy. At the scrapbooking seminar I too was the only guy. BUT it was fun and I did enjoy the scrapbooking element; felt a little strange but it was quite fun. I had a very interesting conversation with a lady as we were lining up. She asked my gf how she got me to this festival and I replied her that I was the one that actually got the tickets haha. Well there is one thing that is good - the men's washroom was empty and NEVER a lineup hehe. Bella @ Sheperd Grande I've never heard of this movie before but once again my gf have said that it would be a good film to watch. At first I told her that I must apologize in advance that I might fall asleep haha. But guess what it was an amazing film eventhough there were only 5 people in the ENTIRE theatre watching Bella. I really enjoyed this film because it was (like a gentleman who sat infront of us - 1 of the 5) a movie with no cussing and no sex and violence. This movie dealt with real life issues of abortion, difficult family relationships and dynamics and true love. I think I may have enjoyed the film a little more; for those who are interested in a heartfelt film that does not focus on sex, lust and violence and not romantic love either go check this movie out.

Is it possible to be reading too much? I think the only downfall is that when you read different books at the same time it is hard to grasp the key messages... If anyone is looking to read a very inspiring book I would suggest reading Shane Claibourne: Irreistable Revolution I'm on chapter 5 and it has been amazing to see such a radical living. The passion of this group of people amazes me; I guess that's what happens when you align yourself with what Jesus has taught about loving and caring for the poor. I'll try to wordpress some theological thought later.

Mann.. what a week and that's not exclaimation... I'm actually at home xhausted from last week... barely able to wake up this morning - yesterday I crashed into bed at 8:30 and waking up this morning feeling like blah... haha lesson learnt! This past week God's really taught me a lesson that I must draw back to Him for source of rest and renergy - I am convicted that I need to learn and develop Sabbath as a weekly act of obedience... A look at last week... Fri-Sun - Didomi Committee Retreat Mon - Greek quiz/assignment Tue - study all day Wed - Systematic Theology Exam; leave for Spiritual Formation Retreat Thurs-Fri - Spiritual Formation Retreat Sat - Enroute Seminar hosted at SCAC, drive to church retreat Sun - drive home from church retreat, dinner with family Mon - dead tired and xhausted...
